It Ain't Spring Yet

So last weekend I had a WONDERFUL time in Dyersburg seeing Brianna and Madison. We went out to eat, made pancakes, and played a ton of board games!!! I even bought the one I liked the most and I'm set up to play it with several people here! :)

The first game-- Ticket to Ride! Trains! Management! CROSS-COUNTRY BUILDING!

The view of the board games.

to be honest these are probably the prettiest pancakes I have EVER made

This was Smallworld-- conquering and counting!

Dominion (my favorite-- the one I bought!) was really fun. Apparently a lot of people here have heard of it, so I'm so excited to play!!

Got a new lid for my cup since the last one broke (whoops), so the coffee craze continues.

So, uh... This was a thing.

We had an RSO (Registered Student Organization) fair today and I was the only one working for a long time. To fight my boredom, I took drastic measures................

By the time I was done my shirt was completely covered. C o m p l e t e l y. A few people said it looked like armor! My very own scalemail.

My... wonderful... view...

Lastly, a peek at some Japanese work. This is a combination of all three alphabets: hiragana, katakana, and kanji. We have a quiz Thursday. YAY!
So that's about it for now. HSC is holding elections Thursday-- that should be fun. I'm planning on running for president, so there's that. I'm looking forward to it but also kinda nervous.

Everything just feels kinda weird, you know? I wish everything was green again!

The Case of the Missing Muffin Pan

So for starters, I'm going to explain this title. A little over an hour ago I got home, sent out an email and filled out a scholarship thing. A little mopey because Japanese is hard. Then I realized a few things at the same time.

I have muffin mix.

I have a muffin pan.

I'm an adult and can chose to make muffins at 9PM if I want to.

So naturally my reaction was to haul myself out to the kitchen and preheat the oven, but whne I reach for the pan.... gone.

Okay. Okay, no big deal. Dishwasher? No. Okay... in one of the cabinets? No? I asked all the roommates. No one has seen this pan. Jessica said she hadn't, when Angela got back from work she also said she hadn't, and then when Elasha got back (with a friend in tow, talking to someone on the phone about creepy notes and stalkers. ugh, freshman) she said she hadn't seen it.

How do you lose a muffin pan? It's not small. It's a normal sized $6 muffin pan. We checked everywhere. NO PAN.

???

So, befuddled and muffinless, I return to write this blog post and talk about CLASSES! Yay.

Pictures first!
Pretty view from the third floor! That apartment in the distance being built? It's another Gather building. Greeeeeeat.

A pic of the schedule for Mom!

A service event to celebrate volunteering!!!! ..... and also free food

View from the bleachers after I acquired food.

So this is a BLACK BEAN BURGER. OH MY GOSH SO GOOD. It's like spicy-ish refried beans and it is SO good.

Wendy's with the beard crew (Weston on the left, Morgan on the right-- I had the burger but I tagged along for a 99 cent frosty)

So today in the UC the Student Activity Committee (SAC) had a winter event... make your own scarf. This is like, JoAnn's level fleece and ALL the designs were SO dorky. I made this for Rachel and Rachel made me a scarf as well. Apparently we're bedazzling them tomorrow. >:)

A peek at my Japanese review. That complicated looking one in the middle looks more complicated because that part of the language is called kanji. It's similar with Chinese so that's why it looks so neat while everything else is just a scribble. That one means "house" in Japanese and "family/home" in Chinese.

I would like to remind everyone that I own these and they're great.
SO CLASSES.

hnnnnnnnnnnnnngh they're not as bad as I make them out to be I've just already got a lot on my plate and some of these classes are intimidating... eh.

Chinese - We have a new Chinese teacher who I absolutely ADORE. OH MY GOSH. She is SO sweet and SO SO SO excited. I'm really pumped up for this semester.

Japanese - I switched teachers because the first one I had went through her powerpoints really, really fast and I couldn't take notes and suffered for it. This one I like better and the class doesn't seem so... crazy. Eh.

International Economics - OKAY. OKAY. So. 85+ is an A. That's great. Okay. This class is offered once a year and it is SO SO SO full. There were kids dragging in seats from the hallway. The teacher is Korean so it'll take a few classes to get all his words down. I plan on getting there half an hour early tomorrow for a good seat.

Modern Asia - Okay, this class is super intimidating. Lots of history. Eh. The students seem nice though. It's heavy discussion-based. Ehhhhh.

Business Communications - So my professor is crazy. In a good way. "I could have been the next Kenny G!" - A quote from him, to which I'm adding no context. It's great. Very fun.

But yeah, things are okay I guess. I've been having some internet issues that I'm working really hard to sort out while I'm still not-so-busy. HSC Exec board is meeting tomorrow to plan out the semester and elections. Eesh. I'm probably running for a co-presidency with Rachel. Makes me excited and also nervous.

You know what else makes me nervous? Being single! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah

Back in Business (aka I'm an adult!)

So I drove back to memphis today. I left around 11:30. It is 4:20 now. I have yet to finish unpacking. But I'm an adult so I decided to make dinner. But then I realized I had not restocked yet. So we are having freezer food tonight. I have prepared the luxurious chicken biscuits and peas and carrots but I realized... wait. I can make country gravy to go on these biscuits and chicken. BUTTER'S IN THE PAN. FLOUR'S OUT.

BUT WAIT.

We're out of milk. But I'm an adult so I googled how to make country gravy without milk and it turns out you can use water in place of milk and I just cannot imagine making gravy without milk but the BUTTER was BROWNING and so I DID it and now I'm sitting here with a powerade and some peas and carrots because I'm an adult. I cooked the biscuits too long and the peas and carrots kjldfklhdgrhdf too short but they're okay.

PICTURES!

Where does the cat start and end? Who knows.

And one day I woke up at one and decided I wanted pancakes.

I feel like this valentines day box really speaks to me.

Crawling out of Winter (Yes, Mackenzie is still here!)

So I have a confession to make!

I've been thinking about updating this blog for like three weeks. I kept either forgetting about it or putting it off. And judging by my track record of procrastination...

So yeah! Whoops! Picture time

The gold dragon, Smaug, has introduced a new variety to my shelf. To my joy I found he matches Viseryion's egg in the back!

It's.... Chewbacca... (from cookie night. We ran out of ideas.)

PROBABLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE GIFTS LOOK AT THIS RING

And of course, it's my blog so there have to be pictures of my face. Here's my face!

Raining again in Dyersburg.... Who would have thought!
So my Christmas break has been relaxing but unexciting. Alex already left for Martin again. I've got the wake-up-past-12-PM-full-of-regret routine down pat! I keep saying I'll get up early but why do that when I could stay up late? I don't know.

As of a few days ago, it was roughly 2 weeks until I find out if I'm a semi-finalist for my scholarship. Still nothing from the internship. It's got me SO nervous. U G H.
This might confuse a lot of you... One of my favorite games, World of Warcraft, recently had its 10th anniversary, and to celebrate, re-released a famous 40-player super battle... I'll add a picture that shows where I am. If I can find myself.

That red blob next to the weird green pedestal? Yeah, that's me. This is what I have been doing all break. And it's g r e a t.
